There are a few points you need to consider when deciding on your wedding cake. Colour, style and the
number of guest you are catering for. Generally the cake is given as part of the wedding favours. And is
usual just a small sample/token for your guests to taste. To this end I have found that 2.5 cm (1”) * 4 cm
(1.5”) is an acceptable size. With these measurements in mind below is an outline of the amount of cake
that would be suitable to feed different numbers of guests. Alternatively a trend that has become quite
popular in recent years is the have one small cake for the ceremonial cutting, along with individual mini
cakes or cup cakes.

If you are catering for a larger number of guests, it’s an idea to keep your main cake at a reasonable
size and then have addition cakes, often known as kitchen/sheet cakes, that can be cut and served to
your guest as well. Remember this is just a guide line. You can have as little or as much wedding cake
as you like.
